Texas Furry Fiesta 2011 Charity

The Center for Animal Research and Education (CARE) was established to provide a safe haven for abused and abandoned big cats rescued from unsuitable exotic pet owners and unethical entrepreneurs. CARE also provides a permanent home and stability for retired performing cats whose fate would otherwise be uncertain. Founded in 2003 as a non-profit public benefit corporation (ID #03-0520301), CARE is currently the permanent home to 3 cougars, 9 leopards, 5 lions, and 38 tigers. The facility is currently at maximum capacity and desperately needs supplies and funds for upkeep and construction of additional habitats. DRAMA and the Furry Fiesta staff consider CARE a very worthy charity! CARE staff members will also be present in the Dealers Den with items to sell and to answer questions, discuss adoptions, and accept physical and monetary donations directly.

To help support CARE, we will be holding a charity auction during Furry Fiesta 2011. If you would like to donate salable items to be auctioned at Furry Fiesta, please contact us with details! Please note that since CARE is a 501(c)(3) organization, any item you donate for the charity auction will be considered tax deductible.
